Superposition

Superposition offers Provinssi audiences a free-flowing and exhilarating jazz experience that lives in the moment and speaks to the listener through its multi-layered expression. Arriving for the first time in Törnävä, the band’s music combines melodic sensitivity, bold improvisation and a constant search for something new, opening up new dimensions and emotional tones with every listen.

Having released two acclaimed long-playing albums, Superposition (2020) and Superposition II (2024), the band is formed by the top names in Finnish jazz: drummer Olavi Louhivuori, saxophonists Linda Fredriksson and Adele Sauros and bassist Mikael Saastamoinen. Each musician contributes to the mixture, where the combination of four different voices forms a strong and distinctive whole.

Superposition is an example of the best of small group jazz, where individual voices, collective freedom and uncompromising curiosity are allowed to flourish – making music together with joy.
